A day at the fair

A DAY AT THE FAIR

Today I went to the North Carolina State Fair with two of my friends, Anna and Julia. I had never been before, so I was pretty excited to see what all the fuss was about. Julia, a native North Carolinian and NC State alum, showed Anna and I the ropes and directed us throughout the fair. My main missions were to see the animals, get this pineapple drink I’ve heard tons about, and try deep fried oreos! I conquered all of those missions and ate a tonnnn of samples throughout the fair! We went during the day, and I would recommend that for everyone because it wasn’t freezing and wasn’t too crowded! Anna, Julia, and I decided to go all out on the fried foods and we collectively got ribbon fries, fried oreos, and fried pickles. Unfortunately, the ribbon fries and fried pickles weren’t that great…but we still ate them anyways! (Note to self: hit the gym tomorrow) The fried oreos were delicious, and we didn’t mind finishing those up! Julia decided she wanted a goldfish, and she flirted her way into two goldfish (she couldn’t just get one…) along with free fish food. While shaking my head the entire time, I decided on a perfect name for one of the fishes: Yvonne. Such a beautiful name right? (….It’s my middle name). Luckily, Julia agreed and Yvonne is livin’ the life a couple apartment buildings over. All in all, it was a good day spent with great friends!

The best part of the fair would have to be milking the cows! I saw the sign and immediately handed over my $3. For some reason, I love doing weird, unsanitary things… so I guess milking a cow at a state fair was right up my alley. I loved it to say the least.

Pure excitement

Smiling while milking…. plus Anna in the back with her honey stick

Actually, I lied. My favorite part about the fair was THIS pineapple drink. They cut out the inside of the pineapple and filled it with whatever drink you wanted. Naturally, I chose pina colada and it was deeeelicious! Everyone asking me where I got it, and I proudly pointed them in the right direction.

The best drink ever
